A Note from The Virtual WallUntil 21 Jan 1970, the 2/7 Marines were working out of LZ Baldy. On the 18th, a blocking force from Golf 2/7 ambushed a number of NVA soldiers, who dropped their weapons and fled with the Marines in hot pursuit. Although the NVA did no harm, two boobytraps did: three men from 2nd Plt, Golf 2/7 were wounded in two explosions. One of the three, Pfc Frank Blas, died later on the 18th. |
