Oh buddy, I sure miss what could have been. We were brothers in arms in the bush but closer than that closer than brothers could ever be. A Note from The Virtual WallLanding Zone NANCY, located a few kilometers from Quang Tri City, was built by the 1st Cavalry Division around the beginning of 1968 as part of the US build-up of forces in Quang Tri Province. By mid-August 1968 LZ NANCY was home to artillery and engineer units as well as infantrymen.On the night of 16 August LZ NANCY was attacked by NVA forces which penetrated the perimeter. While the NVA/VC withdrew before dawn, the bloody fight resulted in at least 20 "killed in action" among the LZ's defenders. They were
