A Note from The Virtual WallThe casualty database indicates that Sergeant Fearn died in a helicopter crash, but there's no record of a US helo loss in Thua Thien Province on 12 May 1971. Admittedly, he could have been aboard an ARVN helo; records are sketchier for those losses. What seems more likely, though, is that he was hit and killed by enemy fire while in flight but the helicopter itself did not actually crash. |
