On 10 Sep 1969 Charlie Company, 2/18th Infantry, lost three men in a firefight about 3 kilometers southwest of Phu Cuong, Binh Duong Province:
  • SFC Lonnie Brown, Williamston, NC;
  • SP4 Michael J. McGovern, Cambria Heights, NY; and
  • SP4 James W. Smith, Napoleon, MO.
