A Note from The Virtual Wall On 06 Feb 1968 the 1/26 Marines were engaged in bitter fighting at Khe Sanh, where the Tet Offensive had started early. Even so, on one of the bloodiest days for US forces in Vietnam - 134 men lost in combat - 1/26 lost only two men: Cpl Thomas A. Meade, Orange, NJ, Delta 1/26, and LCpl Thomas E. Corley, Cleveland, OH, Charlie 1/26.
