In his first email, Terrance Walker, Sr. wrote: "Please post the picture of PFC Herbert L. Megar, U.S Army 2nd Field Forces, Headquarters and HQ Company, at Long Binh 'plantation'. I send two pics: one with me and Herb who is wrapping a Boa around my neck and the other with the snake around Herb's neck. These pics were taken in April or May 1969. We were friends and close."

"Herb, Ron Borowski, Ron Rau and myself reported for guard duty on the Bunker Line the night of the incident. We did a lot of Guard duty together. We didn't hear of his death for a few days."

In a later email, Terrance wrote: "I do not have a date of Pfc Herbert L Megar's injury. It wasn't until I looked up his name did I even know the date of death. I keep thinking the 19th of June which would have placed him in the Hospital for almost 6 days. He was kept alive on life support.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I have asked Ron Borowski and he does not recall the exact date as well. I will try to find more info from other sources, but 44 years is a long time. Thanks for posting Herb's pictures."

"I have been in contact with Linda Dasher, his cousin, and she states Herb's parents are both dead and their home burned right after his death and the family lost all Herb's photos."

Linda Dasher wrote: "Thank you for writing and for your interest in my cousin, Herbert L. Megar, who was killed in VietNam. We called him 'Bert. His mother and father are both deceased."

"He does have a brother who lives in the Atlanta area and two sisters. One sister lives in Dunwoody, Georgia and the other sister lives in Tennessee."
