A Note from The Virtual Wall

During Operation KINGFISHER the 3rd Battalion, 9th Marines was operating around Con Thien, just south of the Demilitarized Zone. On 27 Sep 1967 Mike 3/9 lost two men to enemy artillery firing from within the DMZ: Cpl Tommy E. Osbon and LCpl John W. Hose of Decatur, Alabama.
