John Lewis Smith and Robert Lee Harley died together, when their 2-1/2 ton truck flipped over during a rainstorm at Long Binh. I witnessed the accident and was the first one to reach their truck. The truck had landed upside down in the concertina wire and mine field that surrounded the ammo dump. By the time I was able to get to them the driver (?) had already died and the passenger (?) was pinned under the dash on the passenger side and was still alive. Due to the weather and the location of the truck, it took us too long to dig down to free him and he had died.
