located at Midland International Airport, Midland, Texas. May his sacrifice never be forgotten.
21 Dec 2005 Wayne is buried in Odessa, Texas at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Wayne attended Odessa High School, last attending in the spring of 1962. He worked in the oilfields before being drafted.
He and four other soldiers were at a listening post in a night defensive position (NDP) when Wayne was shot by a sniper. His parents had reported that in Wayne's letters, he had talked of the Paris Peace Talks.
