He was survived by his mother Lillian M. (Fabean) Kolenc Hodge (1923-2002), a younger brother David and sister Karen. He was preceded in death by his father William Harry Kolenc (1922-1962). SP4 William J Kolenc is buried with his parents in Olive Branch Cemetery, North Belle Vernon, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
