A Note from The Virtual WallOn 10 Oct 1969 two UH-1E gunships from HML-367 were tasked with a fire mission against enemy positions near Con Thien. The number two Huey, UH-1E BuNo 152438, was heavily hit in the tail boom/tail rotor area and crashed. Three crewmen were killed in the crash; the fourth, pilot Edward Bauernfeind, was severely injured but was rescued by a nearby Army unit. The three dead were
